Aroideana Vol. 21
Journal of the International Aroid Society
Aroideana Volume 21 (1998) is an illustrated annual published by the International Aroid Society. This issue opens with Society news and guidelines for authors, then presents five major contributions: Craig Allen’s firsthand account of the spectacular bloom of Amorphophallus titanum at Fairchild Tropical Garden; a cytogenetic comparison of diploid and tetraploid Alocasia odora by Nguyen, Yoshino & Tahara; two ecological case studies by Dorothy Shaw documenting how local fauna—the Brush‑turkey and the Eastern Water Dragon—interact with Alocasia brisbanensis fruit; and Thomas Croat’s overview of the history and current status of systematic research on the Araceae.
