SOCIETY

HISTORY, MISSION & LEADERSHIP

Founded in 1977, the International Aroid Society (IAS) unites enthusiasts, researchers, and horticulturists from around the world. Through education, research, and community events—including our annual expo—we promote conservation and cultivate a passion for aroids across the globe.

Rooted in stewardship, science, and community, IAS is guided by passionate volunteer leaders and a shared commitment to the ethical enjoyment and preservation of aroids in their natural habitats. Learn more about the people behind the organization and our values-driven approach to protecting these remarkable plants for future generations.
