Anyone have any information or know some links to info on Typhonium
giganteum? I have a tuber with one rather nice leaf growing and do
not know the first thing about the plant. The tuber is about as big
as my thumb and about 6 cm in length.

Dear Rand;
I've grown this in Kansas City for about 10 years. It usually
has only a couple of leaves per tuber, The largest leaf gets to maybe
15-18 inches and doesn't emerge until very late in the year. I always
think it may have died because there's no sign of foliage until at
least July or August or later.
It blooms prior to foliage and the fruit looks like a large pale raspberry.
Largest tubers here about thumb size, but many small tubers roll
around the main plant and form a small colony. Not showy, but curious
and certainly worth growing for any aroider in a cold climate. Tony
Avent sells/sold it through Plant Delights and you'll see it
occasionally elsewhere.
