yes, they often shoot NYC scenes in toronto. but first they have to buy
garbage, then throw it around, put graffitti everywhere, shoot the movie,
then clean it up. it is still cheaper than shooting in nyc...

what is the going price for garbage? i have some!
also, the NOSTALGIC movies, of NY when everything was cleaner and better
and home baked, is the period they often reference. so a piece of paper
occasionally blowing down a street is "urban garbage".
Moonstruck drove me mad, i LIVED around the corner from that alleged house
and memorized every house on that street. so when she stood under a street
sign, turned the corner onto an alien street, I foamed at the MOUTH! Also
the house in which the family lived is about five times the width of a
mansion in Brooklyn Heights.
