What was the leaf shape, was it cordate, narrowly sagittate or sort of
lanceolate/tear-drop shaped??
Check Paul Resslar`s Caladium page (a link to it is on the MOBOT aroid site)
as it or something you can relate it to might be pictured there.

it was a cultivar that had escaped into the shady forest. now i'm
wondering, was this possibly a natural species? i'm sorry i didn't take a
