Storing seeds in their gelatinous suspensor is satisfactory for a short while -- certainly within the time frame you are contemplating. I too have the impression that the plans were to have the International IAS meeting in 2002, but the lack of even a first letter has me wondering. Perhaps Peter ran into a snag trying to get this into the Kew schedule -- it will after all cost that Institution some money even if the participants agree to pay a goodly sum for registration.
