| Hi, Debbie,
|
| Great! Thanks a million. Only a week or so since beginning, I have
been
| +More |
| enormously impressed by the kindness, vitality, the positivity of Aroid L
| humanity. Gardeners seem to have special qualities and the more care
plant
| kinds need maybe the more caring of Nature people need to be. Anyway
March
| has been a "Wow" for me and I hope for everyone.
|
| Debbie, I have the tissue coloured variegate, "Domino" in plenty, but
| anything else would be of interest. Species are obviously most
important,
| but it seems necessary to keep a "library" of cultivars past, present and
| future for reference. For example the "true McCoy" has an enormous
flower
| and I have never found it. Other cultivars seem to keep the heavenly
| fragrance of their parentages. Some like some modern roses don't.
Maybe
| one cannot do better than what Nature does best?
|
| There is the little one called S. "Cali" which I don't have now though it
| may be the same as the so called cultivar called "mini". It is a SPECIES
of
| floribundum type with a white mid rib, not a variegate but sometimes
called
| so. Maybe it has been named since the 80's? Maybe I was contributory
to
| its presence in some horticulture as I got it from Cali in Columbia.
There
| are also other variegates but I don't know which are stable with whited
| leaves that don't go brown when a little spray water lands? It would be
| good to know the range of variegated Peace Lilies in current culture.
I
| have lists of all my 1980's species and a notional list of species and
| cultivars noted in the literature if anyone is interested in.
Incidentally
| for information not of general interest my email is roniles@eircom.net
| Maybe it is not good practice to discuss the nitty gritty of costs and
| shipping on the net? At any time I will be glad to email lists including
| spares to any friends who would like. And when I get my act together more
I
| will send people new and previous sources of other Aroid and non-Aroid
| genera that manifest themselves. Anyway, Debbie and everyone, from the
| peaceful waterfront of glorious
| West Cork, thanks a million!
|
| Post script for Dany Hervelle - My email to your address is being rejected
| every time. If I don't hear from you I will make it more general and send
| it to Aroid L. Give me a little time and I can contact India and other
| Sources for you. KSG is both in Bangalore and Madras it seems.
