black anthurium

From: Piabinha at aol.com on 2001.03.13 at 04:36:01(6029) hi all, i was just at the philadelphia flower show this weekend. tito wee and his company (dragon-agro) was there selling some pups of a black anthurium, unfort. not in bloom, but there was a pic of the inflor. both the leaves and the inflor. look very much like andreanum, except that it is black and the spadix is curly, kind of like scherzerianum. did we figure out yet what this is? is it a warm grower? they were being sold for $60 each. dragon-agro seems to be specializing in rare and pricey stuff, they had sold some Bulbophyllum fletcherianum the day before (i was told) for $500 each, and a huge Tacca nivea for $1,000!!!! at the hortic. competition, there were several very nice blooming Arisaemas and a large clump of Pinellia cordata in bloom. tsuh yang chen, nyc, USA http://groups.yahoo.com/group/orchidspecies
