Be certain to use non-cultivar material. Many Spathiphyllum cultivars are
sterile through extensive hybdridisation and who knows, eggcell-distortion
may be one of the reasons!
In general never use cultivars for studies unless the studies have a
horticultural goal that allows the results of the studies to explain
phenomena in a horticultural context.
