SEM pictures of Cryptocoryne

Hello all,
Last year, Marian Orgaard and Niels Jacobsen from the Agricultural
University of Copenhagen (Denmark) published an article on Scanning
Electron Microscope (SEM) pictures of the structure of the spathe of the
tropical genus Cryptocoryne. With their permission, I put some of their
pictures on my web site.
Most exiting details:
- downward pointing trichome cells, collapsing after some days,
- a mucilage covering in the lower part of the kettle as food source for
insects.
