Welcome to Warren and any others who have been too shy to announce
themselves and describe their interests.
We are a varied grouping. My interest is in aquatic and wetland
species, but I have found the technical resources on this list to be
deep and helpful even though my specialty is more limited for mass
appeal than, say, Philodendron. That is not to say I have not stumped
the list on occasion. There is so much to know and even vastly more
that no one knows anything about. Feel free to launch questions. You
will be sure (probably) to receive a response, typically one that
comes from experience.

Depending on how mobile you are, please think about attending our
annual show in Miami in September (see IAS web site). You will be
pleasantly surprised at how freindly and cordial you will find our
membership. At the show you also get to meet some of the very best
aroid people and plant lovers to be found anywhere. Not to mention a
host of rare aroids at reasonable prices that you will NEVER find at
the local garden center. Oh, and our keynote speaker this year will be
Peter Boyce, a person with absolutely extensive experience tramping
through the wilds of southern Asia and an expert in the aroid species
to be found there.
Again, welcome. And here's hoping you make use of our resources.
Ted Held.
