Hi Neil,

Your achlorophyllous Amorphophallus titanum seedling is an albino,
commonly occurring in Amorphophallus seedlings, as well as in most
other aroids, due to inbreeding depression. Unfortunately, the
seedling will die once it has depleted the stored food in its seed.
However, it is possible to keep albino plants alive in tissue culture
by heterotrophically providing them with the carbohydrates they
cannot produce themselves via photosynthesis.
