Hi Tom,
This title has already been scanned by our colleagues in Madrid.
http://bibdigital.rjb.csic.es/spa/Volumenes.php?Libro@8
http://bibdigital.rjb.csic.es/spa/Libro.php?LibroW5
I know it is not as good as having it in Botanicus, but we don't want to
duplicate efforts by scanning something already available.
All of the massive amount of content available on this site will be
incorporated into the Biodiversity Heritage Library
www.biodiversitylibrary.org site sometime in the near future. That will
help centralize the scanned protologues and at that point we can link
directly from TROPICOS as well.
Until then the interface on this site from Madrid will allow you to
download a PDF of the entire work or one of any selected pages.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any help navigating the Madrid
site.
Doug

Tom - I'm passing your request for scanning to Doug Holland for his
consideration. I'm cc:ing Bob because I'm not exactly clear on what
you're wanting to accomplish, but I do believe that everything you
outlined is already possible within Tropicos/Botanicus.

Dear Chris:
Could we possibly get Engler's Das Pflanzenreich IV. 23B,
Heft. 21. 1905. scanned for Botanicus? This volume is mostly Anthurium
and is the latest revision of the genus and one that we use all the
time. I am trying to make it possible for my volunteers who are using
the Lucid Anthurium key to be able to compare their findings with the
original description, the original type specimen, etc. Do you know if
specific protologs will eventually be visible in Tropicos? Or is it
already possible? Can one down load any specific page from Botanicus or
is this a pdf that can't be dealt with. Until it becomes possible to
see all the various elements (ie. Protologue, type specimen, selected
paratype, live plants, etc in a single place I would be like to put them
in to a single file. I would appreciate your advise.
Tom
