Dear Cassia:
Thanksfor your willingness to pass this on to Aroid-L. As I told you it isnotPhilodendron angustilobum Croat & Grayum but I have always assumedthatthis thing came from the Burle-Marx collection. Perhaps it really is aspecies but I have always assumed that it was a hybrid, perhaps with P.pedatum. I am hoping that someone on the list might have morefamiliaritywith this taxon.

It was collected in the Rio de Janeiro BotanicGarden (in cultivation) by Marcus and I fora Masters student working on Philos stem anatomy. I have checked theflowersand they match with your description. More ou less the material matchesbut thevinaceus color of the petiole and part of the spatheworries me.
Thank you very much for any help.
