[Aroid-l] Alocasia Nishihira , or is it just a brancifolia ?

After the question re. 'unknown Alocasia' from Thom .. it seems that not many people recognize Alocasia brancifolia as an Alocasia .
There were a few forms listed in the Alocasia edition of Aroideana .
And now it seems one of these forms has got itself a new name .
I have seen a narrow leaf form .
A green petiole form .
A very dark brown striped petiole form .
No doubt there are more variations around .
It is a very difficult species to grow well . Michael Pascall,
