A task for someone like your goodself or ANYONE out there in aroid-land----research and document ALL the bloomings of this wonderful Amorphophallus species in say the last 15 or so years, particulalrly plants originating from seed collected in the wild by Jim Symon and Wilbert Hetterschied! The information, or at least MOST of it would be available on the archives of aroid-l, and from memory (not too good these days!!) would begin with the FIRST blooming at the home of the then-grower at MOBOT, I disremember her name at this moment (shame on me!), but this plant too was TINY, a real dwarf giant, and there was much discussion back then on if genitics played a role in such a small plant blooming! We have had some dark weather the last couple of days and growth has slowed down. The spathe is incomplete and only covers about half of the spadix. So the flowers are visible at all times. It is very tiny---it only measured 28" tall today! The corm weighs 25 pounds and the plant is from a 1993 seed lot that was planted at Gustavus Adolphus College in St.Peter,MN.
