Re: [Aroid-l] Hot Water Treatment for Nematodes in Amorphs and a note on Spanthantheum

The commercial ones they use in labs run from about 700 - 3000 US dollars from what I've seen. I like the idea of an aquarium heater in a bucket a lot better. The commercial ones might be fine if you have a commercial operation or extensive rare collection. For the poor soul who just wants to keep his collection of weirdness safe, a cheaper solution is better. On an unrelated note, my Spanthantheum intermedium has a massive leaf this year after two flowerings. It had started to make small bulbs (still attached) last season and one of them is also making a leaf. It's quite impressive. I know there were differing opinions, but I still find it quite easy to grow. Allan"StroWi@t-online.de" wrote: Dear Allan, nor have I....But I

would probably try a big aquarium heater ( 50 - 100 W) in a 10 -20 liter bucket and make sure the the water is aggitated somehow andmake sure that the bulbs/tubers do not touch the heater.I will inquire how they do it in a commercial nursery.Best,Bernhard.-----Original Message-----> Date: Thu, 29 Mar 2007 17:30:44 +0200> Subject: Re: [Aroid-l] Hot Water Treatment for Nematodes in Amorphs> From: ALLAN TETZLAFF > To: Discussion of aroids > Any idea how you accomplish such a task with accuracy?
