You may have to cut the spathe, but the spathe does open a cup-shaped area when the female and male flowers are 'ready'. Good luck. I have successfully pollinated many Anthuriums species before, and wonder if it is at all similar to that. From the other inflorescenses I have seen on my plant in the past, I can't recall ever seeing the spathe opening wide enough for easy access to the spadix. I seem to recall on some other aroid species the need to cut a portion of the spathe to easily pollinate the plant. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
