I saw it only once in the wild and it as along a creek. I would be tempted to grow it in near terrarium conditions where you could maintain high humidity. From: BETSY FEUERSTEIN <ecuador10 at comcast.net> on 2018.05.07 at 22:07:22(23826) I collected this years ago as Tom did along a stream. I grew it in a large terrarium under lights. It never was happy in the greenhouse. In the wild this thing looks like a peperonia. I found it up off of the stream a good bit in the bright sun. I would not suggest trying that one. It is in an area that has wet/dry seasons and that may be why it went down and then came up again this spring. That would suggest to me light might be a factor also in its survival.
