Greeting all,
I know many of you may have already gotten this list via email,
but I include it here in case there are those who do not get
Ecuagenera's notices. It is mostly Orchids, but starting on page
12, you will find other tropical plants, and of course,
there are Aroids available as well.
Enjoy !

Greetings Don,
I may place and order, not sure yet though.
If you do, remember they will ship to you
once they are state side. In our case,
or others who are in the Chicago area, Ecuagenera
will be vending at the Chicago Botanic Garden, for
the Orchid Show. You could pick up your order there.
They often bring other plants as well, I try to make that
show, and see what else they have brought along.
The next cutoff date for orders is March 9 2012, I believe,
but check the web site to be sure.

Dear Jude,
I could be interested. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of plants from them in the past, the majority of which are doing well. I would have to pore over their list to identify new items. Living as i do in the Caribbean, I am especially searching for low-elevation spp., preferrably Amazonian. I'd welcome input from anyone. I can be reached at conradfleming@yahoo.com Cheers, Conrad | HTML +More |

Hi Conrad, Don and All,
Why would you place a group order? They bring everything
through and mail the orders.
As an importer - I love this - it's much faster and easier, and the
sender doesn't have to get phyto certificates on several different
orders - just the one they import.
Regards,
Alison

Hi All,
I place group orders from Ecuagenera several times a year and am
very familiar with their aroid material. If there's sufficient
interest, I'd be happy to coordinate an order and distribute plants
to people. Because I've been coordinating orders with Ecuagenera
for a number of years and have visited their nurseries, traveled
with them in the field to view aroids, etc., they provide us (the
group) with a discount that offsets the cost of transporting the
plants from Ecuador to the U.S. In other words, the group would pay
list price + domestic shipping costs (not too high, typically;
aroids are relatively light) rather than list price plus the
transportation costs from Ecuador (typically $4+ per plant) and
domestic shipping.

Hi All,
I meant to post and get this back on track if enough people are interested – looks like maybe 5 – 6.
Just need to clear up a little confusion. Alison asks Why a group order, but Ron suggests that group orders would get a better price
It would be great if Ron would be willing to do this for us. I’ll make a list of the items in which I’m interested and send it to him. If it happens, wonderful, but if not, so be it. One question for Ron. If you can do this, could we pay by PayPal?
Thanks,

Usually Ecuagenera has a set price list. Nothing wrong with a group order. There may be a surcharge for the international shipping on individual orders and there may not be. You would have to ask. Ron Kaufman does this all the time with Ecugenera and is there any reason one would not use him. He knows the guys from Ecuagenera well and certainly does this for many people especially at the time of shows. There are a bunch of orchid shows coming up in the spring and Ecuagenera will be sending stuff in at those times and Ron could do the coordination for all of you. Anyway, it certainly is the choice of all involved. If all of the plants go to one person there is that much time longer in the shipping delivery time. I think we might all agree the quickest delivery, the better.
I wish you all the best of luck with your new plants.
Betsy
