Dear aroiders,
Talking about incongruency...
What about a Monstera deliciosa growing in a virgin forest in Africa,

together with gorillas? (it happened so many times I couldn?t count) Or what
about american anteaters in Africa? (the Lion King) The best of all is
finding a movie that was supposed to be in the Brazilian Amazonia, but there
were many Philodendron bipinnatifidum (Coastal S.E.Brazil) and Epipremnum
pinnatum "aureum" (Asia) hanging on trees. And people speaking Spanish,
obviously!!!!
Very best wishes,
Eduardo.
Post scriptum: I SWEAR that some of you are asking: Don?t they speak Spanish
there??? (LOL)

You are not alone. I find it a bit inconguous to be watching a movie set
in
the tropics, or the eastern US, and hear Pacific tree frogs in the
background.

Various parts of Canada make do for USA. even brighton beach memories was
somewhere in Vancouver, i think. i grew UP in brighton beach. Brooklyn
Heights is often located in some charming Canadian village.
and yes, the viper is played by a PYTHON, usually a reticulated python who
gets lots of work i understand.

yes, they often shoot NYC scenes in toronto. but first they have to buy
garbage, then throw it around, put graffitti everywhere, shoot the movie,
then clean it up. it is still cheaper than shooting in nyc...

what is the going price for garbage? i have some!
also, the NOSTALGIC movies, of NY when everything was cleaner and better
and home baked, is the period they often reference. so a piece of paper
occasionally blowing down a street is "urban garbage".
Moonstruck drove me mad, i LIVED around the corner from that alleged house
and memorized every house on that street. so when she stood under a street
sign, turned the corner onto an alien street, I foamed at the MOUTH! Also
the house in which the family lived is about five times the width of a
mansion in Brooklyn Heights.
