Stenospermation marantifolium Hemsl.Biologia Centrali-Americani, . . . Botany . . 3: 425. 1885. Rhizome terete, somewhat strong, 1.2-1.4 cm diam.; internodes 2-6 cm long; petioles 3,5-7 cm long, at the geniculum 8 mm diam., from the stem to the blade becoming narrow, at the end provided with two ear like appendage (auriculate).; leafs subcoriaceous, oblong-ovate somewhat elliptical., the base rounded, at the apex acute, subcaudate, 12-18 cm long, 6.5-7.5 cm broad; the primary lateral veins prominent ant with an angele 40°-45°; pedunvle moderately thick8-9 cm long, the most part of the peduncle is in the petiole sheath enclosed; Spathe not seen; spadix erect oblong, ca 4.5 cm long, diam. 1 cm.
