Import Plants from China

I am in receipt of an email and plant list from a Chen Yi in China, which includes some interesting Aroids, etc. Although I will probably be collecting Aroids on the day of my death am not in sufficient health to put together an order for this.
If someone will take this over, I will gladly send the information I have received to them

Dear David:
Was there supposed to be an attachment with this message, ie from Chen Yi in China? If so it was no apparent to me.

Hi David,
Bonaventure Magrys and I have ordered from Chen Yi in the past and, in addition from I’ve heard from others, the proper identification of their items leaves much to be desired. I’d be interested to hear if others have had the same experience.

David,
My experience, quite a while back (late 90s?), was like Don's and
Bonaventure's, and that's what I heard from others also.
There have also been several reports of someone hacking one of
Chen Yi's old email accounts or web pages and using it to scam
people - requesting money up front (which I don't think the real
Chen Yi ever did, as best I recall) and of course no plants ever
arrived.
All that said, hope springs eternal, fools rush in, and if
someone was to find the REAL Chen Yi and was willing to manage the
import order and asked me, I'd probably still jump in, knowing
that half of what I got would be misidentified. As Forrest Gump
said, plant imports are like a box of chocolates ...

Don and all,
| HTML +More |
I’ve ordered from CY a few times and rarely exactly as ordered. Same for maybe 1/2 dozen friends. While this mostly means more common plants than ordered, it can also mean totally different plants than ordered and some pleasant surprises. Different species (rarer ones), different families, and some neat odd balls.
I order from other Chinese sources to and have similar experiences. JIm W.
I’d be interested to hear if others have had the same experience.

Hi All,
I did once order from Chen Yi and the experience was pretty much as described by others ... interesting!
However, I also once ordered from: newchina2010@vip.126.com
the first time was fine but a second prepaid order was never delivered and never responded to numerous emails, so beware.

Having done a combined plant order for the Arisaema Group many years ago, I realize that there’s not an insignificant amount of work involved in doing a combined order like this.
That being said, if there is someone willing to post the list and anyone else who would take on such a project, I’m certain I could find some items on which I might take a chance and help defer the cost of shipment.

If an order does materialize, I might be interested in participating. The
opportunity to acquire some unusual aroids is appealing, as is the
roulette/Forrest Gump component of the endeavor.
