Amorphophallus from Madagascar - identity request
|
From: "Brian O'Brien" <bobrien at gustavus.edu> on 2009.10.04 at 03:05:38(20150)
Hello All,
I bought an unidentified Madagascan Amorphophallus speciesin 2001 from the Huntington Botanical Garden's International SucculentIntroductions program (it's not a succulent, but interestingnon-succulents sometimes appear in the offerings). The plant hassince flowered. I have a request in to the Huntington with regardto whether the species has been formally described, and thought that itwould be good to send the same request to aroid-l.
Here's the relevant information, via my Flickr sites:

If you have any information about this interesting plant, I wouldgreatly appreciate it if you would post it on aroid-l and/or forward itto me.
Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Somebody made a mistake with labels. The label belongs to a series of plants
from Roeoesli & Hoffman, all A. taurostigma or a species clolesy allied
(Madagascar). The plant in your flowering pictures is the N. Thai - S.
Chinese - Burmese Am. kachinensis.
Cheers,
Wilbert
