Sowing Anchomanes seeds

Dear Ed,
Clean the soft outer covering/fruit and wash from the seeds. Prepare a ''jungle mix''-type medium in one of those clear plastic 4-packs you buy muffins in at Publix. Use a little ''Captan'' fungicide on the seeds, plant 1/2 buried in the medium, keep medium moist at all times, and covered (but you might make some ''air holes'' in the clear plastic cover to prevent air stagnation but retain humidity).
I just got a good tip for those who don`t have Captan---use a little anti-fungal ''foot powder''. I hear it works just fine!
Good Luck and Good Growing.

Subject: [Aroid-l] Anchomanes difformis
Gday,
I recently obtained some seeds for Anchomanes difformis. Does any one know how to plant the seeds? Is it similar to Anthurium? Thanks in advance...
Regards,
Ed

Ed I have no experience on sowing Anchomanes, but I think that isn’t different from Amorphophallus.
I use this method:
| HTML +More |
Clean the seeds with mild water and fine sands, typically I place water, seeds and sands on a small bottle and shake all for a minute to mechanically remove all the part of the fruit that cover the seed, this kind of organic material is a propagator of fungus, and for example with Arisaema inhibit the germination.
Soak the seeds with mild water, do not use tap water, mixed with fungicide for two or more hours
Place the seeds on a compost of
60% peat
20% perlite
20% vermiculite
Moisten, do not use tap water and place on a plastic bag and place in shaded lacation
