Philodendron stenolobum splitting into 2 heads ..
From: Michael Pascall <mickpascall at hotmail.com> on 2008.08.15 at 06:34:52(18378)
Cleaning up in my garden and mulching over the last few weeks .
I noticed flowers coming on this sp. Nothing new as I have seen dozens flowering and full of seeds at Whyanbeel. But what got my attention , while I was trimming of some of the older leaves, was the fact that the meristem had split into two . This plant is only a few years old , and one of my own seedlings . It has been planted out for approx 2 years and has maybe 30 cms of stem. It will be a few months before both of the new leaves will open up and mature to be certain both new stems will thrive . This is not a common occurence I think .
Pictures will be taken and posted here eventually.
