So it is growing completely epiphytically. It, after 3 months is finally beginning to grow roots to attach itself to the background and is putting out inflorescences on a regular basis. I have some seedlings that have been growing extremely slowly on a piece of drift wood in the same terrarium, but these are attached to the wood and would most likely die if detached. Overall the plant is very hardy. Just keep it moist. George Yao posted it in Aroideana as Alocasia advincula 2 years ago. The problem is that it was not described scientifically and the name advincula was published. this resulted in nomen nudum and advincula grex may not be used again for Alocasia. Lanie medecilo finally submitted Alocasia nycteris Medicilo, Yao et Madulid. That is now the official name.
