  a new Amorphophallus species
From: Chipboy5399 at cs.com on 2007.07.20 at 13:25:35(15987)
Keep your eyes open this weekend for another posting on ebay of 2 tubers. I am not posting them but am letting everyone know in the group for Mike who just got his shipment. These tubers are known to get up to as big as 25 lbs. Wilbert has been contacted and is excited and has assured that these are indeed new unnamed species. They are from the southwest area of Madagascar.

Are you sure you mean southwest, not southeast?

The southwest of the island is very dry. The southeast of the island is
very wet.

Madagascar has a mountain chain running north to south along the east
coast. East of the mountains is year-round rain. West of the mountains is
mostly summer rain, decreasing from the north to the south.
