Titan Arum at Gustavus Adolphus College is open
From: "Brian O'Brien" <bobrien at gustavus.edu> on 2007.05.13 at 06:18:43(15669)
Hello All,
Our Amorphophallus titanum began opening this afternoon, and is
now fully glorious. The lights in the greenhouse will remain on
through the night so as to allow for recording of images for a
stop-motion film and for viewing via the Internet.
Public visitation will open Sunday morning at 8:00 Central
Daylight Time. About 1,000 or so visitors (rough estimate) came
through the greenhouse this afternoon and evening (Saturday), even
though the "official" visitation times did not apply.

sites/photos, I will look forward to reports on what the reactions are to
the smell!

The Best,

Julius
