I believe that the current thinking has placed the Lemmnaceae within
the Araceae based upon the following statement from page 3 of "World
Checklist and Bibliography of Araceae published in 2002 (ISBN 1 84246036 6).
"The Lemnaceae have now been shown to be nested within the Araceae;....and this
position has accordingly been adapted here." banta
