Dear Folks
Today we added the following rare Alocasia for sale. We are the first ever nursery to offer the two recently described Sabah species, A. pangeran & A. wongii
Alocasia longiloba 'watsoniana' (the real thing, not one of the hybrids; stunning)
Alocasia pangeran (the species epithet is a princely title in Malay; lovely species known only from limestone in Sabah)
Alocasia princeps 'Purple Cloak' (slender species with plum purple, sandpapery petioles and narrow deep green, purple-backed leaves. Violet spathes).
Alocasia princeps 'Dwarf Purple Cloak' (much as above but an overall smaller-growing plant)
Alocasia scabriuscula (thickly textured steel grey leaves on rough red-spattered petioles. Clusters of white spathes)
Alocasia wongii (recently described species from Sabah; lovely snakeskin-marked petioles and bluish leaves).
