In the past few months a few subscribers have either changed their
email addresses (and did not notify the moderators) or have allowed
their email boxes to become full (on their Internet Service Providers'
servers). When this happens, everytime the moderators approve a
message, the moderators get copies of bounce messages returned to
them. As of a few days ago, the moderators were getting almost 20
bounce messages for every message approved.
To eliminate so much email into the moderators email boxes, we have
adopted a policy of removing subscribers when we receive the 100th
bounced message. For all practical purposes it takes about 30-45 days
of Aroid-l messages for this to happen.
If you discover that you are no longer getting Aroid-l messages, it could
be because you have been removed from the list for the reason listed
above. To rejoin, just go to http://lists.ncsu.edu
Also, there was a brief hickup this morning to the listserv machine between
2am and 5am (EST) and there exist the possibility that a very few messages
waiting in the queue for approval may have been lost. If you posted a
message and have not seen it come through, please repost the message.
