  Amorphophallus goetzei??
From: "brian williams" pugturd50 at hotmail.com> on 2002.03.23 at 04:15:56(8325)
My friend in Thialand has another friend who was out looking for aquatic
plants. He ran across what looks to me to be Amorphophallus goetzei. But
this pic was taken in west Thialand. Amorphophallus goetzei is said to be in
Tanzania and Mozambique. What is it then?

The plant on the Thai website is Amorphophallus cirrifer, certainly one of
the most weird of phalloids. Notice the hairs on the appendix, which is rare
in the genus and would certainly rule out A. goetzei (apart indeed from the
geographical problem that would arise).

Cheerio,
Wilbert
