A plant is now popular in dutch gardenshops named Alocasia Polly
It has arrowshaped, dull black leaves with a whitish vening Can
anyone add a species name to it Or is it a hybrid?

This is a cultivar, selected from stock of Alocasia x amazonica. It is more
dwarfish.
It can be viewed on www.plantscope.nl, query as guest user for images on the
term productname Polly and you'll find the image.

A. reginula is known in the trade as Black Velvet or Blackie. Polly, i believe, is a form of x amazonica.

Cheers Wilbert
What threw me was the description of matt black leaves - I always
think of A. x Amazonica as glossy

Absolutely. Matt was the wrong diagnosis, although the glossiness of x
amazonica diminishes when a leaf gets older.
