Dear IAS Members and Aroiders,

Through the competent assistance of Thomas Mottl, the International Aroid
Society Web Site is launching a new service for IAS Members: An IAS
Members-only page has been created that is password protected. Currently,
IAS Members can access this part of the IAS Web site to view and download
current Newsletters. In the very near future, IAS Members will be able to
access past IAS Newsletters, research reports on aroid botany and
horticulture, taxonomic revisions of aroid genera, International Aroid
Conference proceedings, rare and out of print aroid books, out-of-print
Aroideanas, and many other features.

For IAS Members to gain access, please contact me privately off of Aroid-L
at . I will give you the access information then.

If you are not an IAS Member and you would like to become a Member to take
advantage of this new service, along with all of the other many benefits of
membership, please accept my invitation to join by going to
http://www.aroid.org/society/joinias.html. We would be very happy to
welcome you to the International Aroid Society.

Please note that this feature is neither the beginning of limiting the
access of the general online public to the IAS Web site, nor is it intended
to completely replace the traditionally snail mailed hard copies of the IAS
Newsletter. The IAS Web site will continue to be updated with aroid content
available to everyone. However, content that is only pertinent to IAS
Members such as Newsletters and other IAS communications, or content that
requires considerable resources of the IAS to be put online, will only be
available to IAS Members.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards, Scott
