Amorphophallus fever

(April). Spring sap rises in the awesome Amorphophallus again and
inconcupiscent safaris (di)vert heavy next breeding season lorry loads from
Tooting. Lullabies wake seed of the terrible beasts from slumber. Is it
Venusberg or Babylon? May God not strike us down with the mitey Red Spider.
Please - This is rural Ireland, let's get back to talking about nice things
like Peace Lilies. Oh, please, do you have the name and address of the Sri
Lankan E(x)otic Vegetable Companies. I want to see what you're all excited
about.
Red Spider Mites. The Bugological Company in US has an apparently unusual
range of pest banishers. (bugological@aol.com) Tel/Fax - 520.298.4400
Water plants and waterlogged soils. TROPICA, Denmark has a very interesting
three pages on this. Also in Aquarium Heute 1996(3). The info can also be
found through the Cryptocoryne Web Group, another splendid group of people..

In the vicinity of Tooting Broadway Should Aroid-L be on the Adult Channel?
tube station I found a couple of Sri
Lankan greengrocers/general stores with an interesting array of produce:
Amorphophallus paeoniifolius (several kilos each) at ?2.65 a kilo,
Pachyrhizus erosus (yam bean), same price, Feronia limonia (wood apples),
same price, Moringa oleifera (drumsticks), various yams, banana flowers,
jackfruit seeds, etc. From these two shops you could raise an interesting
display of edible tropical houseplants. Next time I shall try Southall
market as Peter Boyce suggests - it may be even better!
