Guten Abend Herr David,

thanks for your reply!

I guess you saw the answer from Wilbert and forgive me that I follow his advice.

Since I have quite some spec from that region like gigas, decus-silvae, discophorus etc. I already thought that it will fit to juliae as well.

For other spec like paeoniifolius, taurostigma and others it is more the way you describe it; I store those spec. in paper bags at room temperature, too.

In regard of storing requirements of spec. like gigas etc. you can find some notes from Wilbert at the bottom of this page:

http://www.aroid.org/genera/amorphophallus/amcult.php

and in the excel-file to be downloaded in post #4 at:

http://www.amorphophallus-forum.de/amorphophallus-soil-dormancy-list-substrat-lagerungsbedingungen-ruhezeit-pflegetipps-fragen/amorphophallus-f26/t473-f12/

(tranlation button at the bottom of that page...)

Since juliae is not included, I sent my request to the list......

Happy storing,

Bernhard.

Guten abend Herr Bernard,

I certainly am no expert in Amorphophallus, but I haven't seen any responses to your inquiry.

Amorphophallus should be stored dry and in a temperaturecertainly well above freezing.  Make sure that some air can get to the tubers during the winter.  They could be placed on a shelf or I place mine in paper bags.  I wash all of the dirt off, let them dry, and then powder them with an anti-fugal powder.

Amorphophiles,

would someone know the right storage conditions for Amorphophallus juliae ( not julaihii ! )?

My specimen was sold by Malesiana-Tropicals in 2006 under the name A. spec. Bintulu...

During dormancy bone dry or in light damp substrate / sphagnum???

I'd be thankfull for enlightenment...

Happy posting, Bernhard.
