True, true blue is rare. =A0Gentians are the standard "true blue" in flowers but there are more genuinely true blue flowers i.e. without any pink/purple pigments in the flora of Western Australia than any place else. Roadsides are lined with startling blue Leschenaultia biloba,=A0which are as blue as any gentian, and there are ice blue orchids such as Thelymitra deformis =A0and Caladenia crinata=A0.=A0Why is the next question? =A0Western Australia has a high degree of endemism in both plants and animals so should we be looking at pollinators?=A0

Also, it is important to note that "true blue" is rare throughout the plant kingdom.=A0 There are a few taxa with genuinely blue flowers, but the majority of "blue" flowers have more or less purplish or lavender color to them.=A0 Blue pansies, blue cornflowers, and blue asters come to mind.
