Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) and Cymbidium Mosaic Virus (CyMV) are big problems for orchid growers.
I have even seen symptoms show up in lilies potted in used orchid pots.
There are home test kits called "ImmunoStrips" available through a company called Agdia.
The virus can be detected, but not cured.

"I have been frequenting the Hippeastrum forum lately and there is a big scare going around with Tobacco Mosaic Virus. I actually found two in my collection that have it. My question is are there any aroids that are susceptible to this virus? I am especially worried about amorphophallus species. I would burn every hippeastrum I have to protect my amorphs. Thanks for any input."
I've never heard of this virus, can some of you guys and gals fill us in on the details and potential dangers?
