Please delineate what the initials "EA" stand for. Is that a store name or a country abbreviation or something else altogether?

Subject: [Aroid-l] Alocasia Black Polly

Dear All,

Adding to the recent discussion of Alocasia Amazonica
including Black Polly I have found something I haven't yet
encountered:

The Black Polly plants that I have had for at least a couple of
years are the ones EA has sold with that tag that look a lot like
Amazonica only a little more compact blade and blacker face.

This week at a local greenhouse I found that they had some
there tagged "Black Polly" that were nothing like the EA one.

It was more like a lauterbachii with a very dark cast to it.

Has anyone seen this new appearance in the trade?

EA stopped selling Amazonica everywhere and now you may be
hard-pressed to find one at all in any box store.  Only the blacker
one, now someone has co opted the name for yet another plant.

I just call them "trade names".

Alison
