Steve, Looks like Drimiopsis maculata (Hyacinthaceae). Not a true hosta but often goes by the common name of "African hosta" due to similarities in leaf shape. As the common name implies, it is a south African plant Adam Black

This is way out of the realm of aroids but I have a lady asking is this is a Hosta? I don't think so but I know zip about hostas other than we have several hundred in the yard. Does anyone recognize the plant so I can give her some sort of answer? It appears to be velutinous and I'd guess it was related to the Gesneriad family.
Thanks!
