Subject[aroid-l] Thermogenesis articles
Greetings,
If I may respectfully suggest, Symplocarpus foetidus would yield a good number of Google hits for you.
Googling "temperature regulation in Symplocarpus foetidus", will give you excellent results.
In fact, I just read an article on line from The Nature Institute, dealing with some of this issue.
Others from the Oxford journals, and Plant Physiology online, have valuable information as well.
Here in the Elgin, IL area, we are a few weeks away from the Skunk cabbage emerging.
I live just a few blocks from the Fox River, and there are several high quality natural areas,
=A0within walking distance, that have dozens and dozens of Symplocarpus flowering, along with
impressive numbers of=A0Caltha palustris,=A0that emerge shortly after.
It always a marvelous sight, at this time of year, often in ankle deep snow, to see those amazing
hoods emerging from the ground.
I hope this information will be useful to you.

Subject: [Aroid-l] Thermogenesis
Hello all,
I am currently taking a plant physiology class which requires, since I am a graduate student, that I do a research paper and talk on any subject having to do with Plant Phys.=A0 I have narrowed down my topics to either floral scent or thermogenesis.=A0 I have found quite a few articles on the first, but now want to look into thermogenesis.=A0 Does anyone know of a good review article or other research papers that deals with this topic in the scope of Aroids (since I also need to keep my paper focused on two or three plants, preferably of the same family)?
Thanks in advance.
