Dear Derek:
Certainlyyou should go ahead with this. I am impressed with how much you haveaccomplished. I am impressed with all the cultivar names that you foundand recorded. Where did you get these lists of names? Donna Atwoodand I were working on some lists of cultivars but I think she was trying findout if and where the names were published. It was a real mess becausemost were published in rare and obsolete gardening journals. Are we expected tolist where these names were published or just publish the names that we aregoing to officially register?
Tom

Hi Derek,
We have been trying to get this done since 1976, so it will be great to havesomeone who can actually get this going. You have my vote.

Subject: [Aroid-l] Cultivar registration - the bad penny is back
Greetings everyone,
We now have a form which Albert put together for on-line submission ofcultivar names for registration. I think that it is pretty neat, and we needpeople to give it a try. The program has been I the works by IAS for someyears, with some great work done in the early days: this builds on that. .Checkon the page http://www.aroid.org/cultivars/(copy and paste if the link is not live).
We are hoping for approval by the board to continue withthis. No response to date, although it has presumably been accepted in thedistant past. It would be very encouraging to hear from aroid-l people (not tomention board members) – what is the wish of the society? Go with this,or not?
Derek
