Etymology:
Distribution: Originally described from material in the vicinity of Alto Tambo in Esmeraldas, Ecuador.
Sectional Placement:
Description: Stem, erect and ascending with short internodes; leaves with petioles erect and subcylindrical, the leaf blade is profoundly lobed with the base of the anterior lobes fairly constricted, providing for an unusual presentation of the lobes, veins numerous; inflorescence, spathe pale green, lanceolate, spadix, violet-purple.
Notes: Sodiro's description says the spadix is rigidly erect, but this photo says different.
