Etymology:Chiapasense: from Chiapas, tlaxiacense: from Tlaxiaco in southern Oaxaca.
Distribution: Found in southern Oaxaca, Mexico
Sectional Placement: One of a group of species formerly placed in section Belolonchium but never fit well. A new section has been suggested which would include the cordate species of section Belolonchium which have glandular punctations of the back of the leaf blade. The proposed name is Cordatopunctatum, sect. nov.
